Not everyone may consider paying for something like a game engine from a starting point due to the fact that you might just say screw it and quit.
My main point and your forgetting this is that unity is free *unless you make over 100 grand* and RPG maker is not. I'd rather play a fun game on Flash/RPG maker, than a horrible crappy game on Unreal/Unity. And it doesn't matter if it's in Flash/RPG Maker/Game Maker/Unity/Unreal/custom. I'd rather play a fun game on Flash/RPG maker, than a horrible crappy game on Unreal/Unity.Įngines dont make the game. But so are all tools in someway.Įngines dont make the game. If someone is comfortable with a speciifc tool why do you have to harp on them for using it? Sure RPG maker is limited. "You can mkae your own game engine in C# why would you use Unity IDK" One final thing I researched is that unity can make turn based RPG's so why you would use RPG maker IDK I started making my own game in BASIC and copying a choose your own adventure thing. just like everyone else's first thing they ever did.
Show me the first piece of code or game you ever made, it probabaly is garbage. Dont' look down on people just because their starting point is somehow 'beneath' you. It's not different than starting with Unity/UE. What's wrong with someone using RPG maker if that's their starting point. It's pretty hard to say "jump into unity" for a novice programmer. Some Genric MLG Guy님이 먼저 게시:If I'm looking for a "school" to teach me programming I'd much rather choose my start with unity personally I just like unity and I love how much more you can do with it compared to 8 bit crappy RPG simulatorĪgain there's nothing wrong with using RPG simulator. So why do you hate it? If you do hate it. And where better to start learning about that career than with a tool made for that career? We can't all just hop on unity and make a perfect 3D game, There has to be a practice somewhere right? Some are of the non-intelegent sort who thing any game they make is worth $50, but a lot are trying to build a career. RPG Maker has brought thousands of people together. A lot of writers and graphics artists actually use it to help them refine their art skills and how they work with/in games and what they need to change to help make them progress further. So RPGMaker gives you a chance to fill a space in there telling people what you did for future job refferences. It is hard to get a game development job without something to put in your portfolio. Everyone, no matter what carreer, has to start somewhere.
To us the RPG Maker is a tool, It lets us make games quickly while we know not everything in our game is our work. So I'm here to ask you after letting you know what it is to us.
A lot of people from the RPG communities wonder "Why the hate?".
